Vinted Users Express Frustration Regarding Sizing Modifications
Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in products showing incorrect sizing.
The popular resale platform has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments failing to inform all users about the change.
Digital Channels Response
Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification versus the original listing due to the recalibration.
The company said the revised method more closely matches other platforms.
They have suggested members to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually when needed, causing user dissatisfaction.
Sizing System Modifications
Previously, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10.
The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.
User Accounts
A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she said.
Required Changes
A different user, based in Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she stated.
Platform Context
The platform boasts over 100 million members, with 18 million British users.
It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
